The Morricone Reissue machine has been extremely quiet this year (the recent cancellation of Svegliati E Uccidi only adding insult to injury) , but I'm all and about this one.

I just realized that the second track is - once again - the suite from Ecce Homo that's already been released on the 2009 expanded edition of the score.
The reason to have this nw cd is for the stereo mix of "REQUIEM PER UN DESTINO", nothing more: no bonus track per se.

Due to its frustrating contents, I didn't bother purchasing this CD but I feel that GDM should have done it another way. Indeed, since Morricone seems to be fond of THE BIBLE (I read an interview regarding his Verona performance where he claims to like both "themes" known as The mountain and La torre di Babele), this indeed could have proved a great opportunity to gather all tracks from this rejected score available in the RCA vaults and to release them officially instead of the very redundant ECCE HOMO concert suite. Moreover, this would have been pretty much coherent since both UN UOMO A META and THE BIBLE are from 1966, share a contemporary feel and feature chorus (UN UOMO only at the very end of the Requiem per un destino, that is). Too bad the executives at GDM didn't come up with that program because the CD would have been much more attractive and even people who dislike UN UOMO A META or own it already would have bought it to get at least some extra tracks from THE BIBLE (a few ones are spread on rare library music albums or other scores such as IL GIARDINO DELLE DELIZIE).

Regarding RCA stuff, I found yesterday the expanded SVEGLIATI E UCCIDI, a very powerful score I'm enjoying right now. Although I didn't buy the previous Dagored edition, let's hope it's the definitive edition as I simply refuse the idea to get a longer CD within a few years from now (again 15' more?) ! I don't know if that version of the song Una stanza vuota was already available before but I enjoy very much the mix where a harpsichord has been blended into it (track 13). Way too short an intervention! Any one else discussing this recent GDM CD?

Good to see this forum has come alive a little bit, wish I had more time to contribute myself.

I also got the expanded SVEGLIATI, it's a worthwhile addition to go with the GDM expanded AD OGNI COSTO and COME IMPARI... as you say the version of the song with the harpsichord adds a new flavour to this powerful vocal. Although there are no new themes on this CD as such there is enough variation in the arrangements to make the new tracks enjoyable.
I now hope we will see a complete MENAGE ALL 'ITALIANA.

I also got the new CITTA VIOLENTA. I did not have the previous GDM release so was very pleased to get this. To be honest I need to listen to it again, it's nice to have some good alternate versions of the main theme, but overall my impression of this is that the original LP was the best listening experience. Does anyone else have it?

I certainly also wish this discussion board would be that lively all the time. Regarding EM, it's of course a euphemism to state that is there is always something going on. There is therefore more than enough stuff to be discussed and no excuse for remaining silent. Also thanks to KP1961 for his kind words welcoming me back.

As for CITTA VIOLENTA I don't have it yet but was told as well that the new material doesn't really add anything substantial to what we have so far. Like in the case of SVEGLIATI, I don't own the previous expanded release, making worth the purchase of the new CD in any case. I'll post further impressions once I have it.
