I'm agree with you when you say: "...Andrea would see it as a compliment...". Anyhow, Andrea isn't a stupid: he perfectly knows that he has "to fight" every day VS his father's shadow.

J.S Bach's sons, Carl Philip Emanuel, Johann Christian and Wilhelm Friedemann suffered the same situation until their famous father's death, and after his death too. Not only: except some Emanuel's cembalo concerts, most of their compositions, expecially Friedemann's ones, passed completely unnoticed. Friedemann, to earn some coins, went down, completely drunk, in the taverns, playing from memory, not his compositions, but all his father's violin concerts.
This tale shows how difficult has always been the life and always it will be for all those who have had or have a famous father.

I'll follow your suggestion. I'll be very pleased to talk about Andrea's compositions when the opportunity will offer.

I met Andrea Morricone in Rome when he was (I think) just 10 years old!
I asked him if he thought he'd ever be a film music composer, like his father. He laughed and Morricone laughed too, saying his son was more interested in football! :roll:

Altnikol - I knew Bach had three sons but did not know that story about the taverns.
Of course, there have been volumes written on the difficulty of being the son of a famous father. An unenviable task for most! In some cases the strain causes torment and ends in tragedy, so I'm pleased to see Andrea is a level-headed talent.

CAPTURING THE FRIEDMANS was never commercially released on CD as far as I am aware. I belive a promo Andrea Morricone "sampler" USA CD exists with some tracks but I was never able to find a copy. Was a CD really issued ??
